The Saigu Procession returns once again to grace the autumn season in Arashiyama.
This traditional event reenacts the departure of a royal princess (Saigu) sent to serve at Ise Shrine.
Around 100 participants dressed in Heian-period attire parade from Saga-Arashiyama Station to Togetsukyo Bridge and Arashiyama Park (Nakanoshima area).
Held annually on the third Sunday of October, the 2025 procession is scheduled for Sunday, October 19.

As many visitors are expected to attend, local roads and public transportation may become congested.
Taxi arrangements, pick-up/drop-off, and movement during check-in and check-out may be affected.
